Manchester United have been handed a major injury boost ahead of their Premier League clash against Everton on Saturday’s early kick-off, with Manuel Ugarte, Leny Yoro, and Christian Eriksen all returning to contention.
United’s preparations for last week’s 2-1 defeat to Tottenham were severely disrupted by a late injury crisis, forcing Ruben Amorim to name a bench full of academy players who were yet to make their senior debuts.
Among those missing was Ugarte, while the absences of Yoro and Eriksen only became apparent when the youthful team sheet was revealed. However, Amorim has now confirmed that all three players are fit and available for selection against Everton.
Eriksen Ready to Return After Heart Condition Concern

Amorim provided particularly positive news on Eriksen, explaining that his absence against Tottenham was simply due to a misunderstanding related to his heart condition.
- “Christian is completely healthy and ready to play at a high level for many years,” Amorim reassured reporters on Friday.
With United struggling for midfield depth, Eriksen’s return is a timely boost.
Ugarte Set to Replace Casemiro in Midfield
United remain without Kobbie Mainoo, Toby Collyer, and Mason Mount, limiting Amorim’s options in midfield. However, Manuel Ugarte is expected to return straight into the lineup, likely replacing Casemiro, who has struggled for form this season.
Ugarte’s ball-winning ability and energy could be crucial against a resilient Everton side that thrives in physical battles.
Yoro’s Comeback Bolsters a Depleted Defense
Further back, the return of Leny Yoro will strengthen a United defense missing several key players.
- Lisandro Martinez, Jonny Evans, and Luke Shaw remain sidelined.
- Amad Diallo is also out for the rest of the season with an ankle injury.
With Everton posing a significant aerial threat, Yoro’s presence in central defense will be a major boost for United’s backline.
United Looking to Leapfrog Everton in the Table
United currently trail Everton by just one point in the Premier League standings and have lost 12 league matches this season, compared to the Toffees’ nine defeats.
Despite their struggles, Amorim is optimistic about his squad’s improvement following another week without European commitments.
“They are improving,” Amorim said. “The players are building relationships, even the sound of training is different. But we have to show that in games and take that step. I see progress in training, but when it comes to matches, we still struggle.”
With three key players returning, United will be hoping to translate that training-ground progress into a much-needed victory at Goodison Park.
