Portuguese Star to Continue in Saudi Arabia Until 2026
Cristiano Ronaldo will extend his stay at Al Nassr for another season after verbally agreeing to a one-year contract extension, according to reports.
The 40-year-old forward originally signed a two-and-a-half-year deal with the Saudi Pro League club after leaving Manchester United in January 2023. His current contract was set to expire in June 2025, but both Ronaldo and Al Nassr have reportedly reached an agreement to continue their partnership for another season.
Contract Details & Club Statement

French news outlet AFP quoted an unnamed Al Nassr official who confirmed the agreement but noted that the deal is not yet officially signed:
“An announcement will be made over the coming days.”
This extension would keep Ronaldo at Al Nassr until June 2026, continuing his lucrative contract, which reportedly earns him around £177 million per year.
Ronaldo’s Impact at Al Nassr
Despite his age, Ronaldo remains one of the most dominant players in the Saudi Pro League. He has:
- Scored 16 goals in 19 league appearances this season
- Led the league in goals
- Started all but one of Al Nassr’s league games
Even with the club investing in younger talents—such as the £60 million signing of Jhon Duran—Ronaldo remains a vital leader for the team.
Recent Transfer Speculation
Ronaldo has been linked with potential moves to PSG, Manchester City, and Fenerbahce, where he could reunite with Jose Mourinho. However, he has always expressed his commitment to Al Nassr.
At the start of 2025, Ronaldo stated:
“For me, the most important thing is to be professional, to push hard, respect the club, respect your contract.”
What’s Next for Ronaldo?
With this extension, Ronaldo will remain the face of Saudi football for at least another season. His contract renewal reflects his dedication to the club and his unwavering hunger for competition.
