Eintracht Frankfurt Identifies Replacement for Omar Marmoush

Eintracht Frankfurt has reportedly settled on a replacement for Egyptian forward Omar Marmoush, according to the latest updates on Monday evening. The Bundesliga club is actively searching for a new striker in the January transfer window following Marmoush’s confirmed move to Manchester City in a deal worth approximately €80 million.

Wahi to Replace Marmoush

French outlet Foot Mercato reports that Frankfurt is close to signing Elye Wahi from Olympique Marseille as a direct replacement for Marmoush. The 22-year-old French striker is expected to join the German club after Frankfurt and Marseille reached an almost-complete agreement, although the financial details of the deal have not been disclosed.

Wahi joined Marseille last summer for €25 million from Lens but has struggled to make a significant impact, scoring just three goals and providing one assist in 13 Ligue 1 matches this season.

De Zerbi’s Comments on Wahi’s Future

Marseille head coach Roberto De Zerbi addressed Wahi’s potential departure in a recent press conference, stating, “There’s nothing new at the moment. We’ll see what happens in the coming weeks.”

Frankfurt’s Continued Investment in Attack

Eintracht Frankfurt has developed a reputation for its strategic investment in attacking players. Over recent years, the club has sold notable forwards like Sébastien Haller, Luka Jović, Adrien Silva, Randal Kolo Muani, and now Omar Marmoush, earning more than €250 million in transfer fees.

By securing Elye Wahi, Frankfurt aims to maintain its competitive edge in the Bundesliga and continue its tradition of developing promising talent into world-class players.
