Guardiola Jokes About Learning Russian After Khusanov’s Tough Man City Debut

🔹 Guardiola on Khusanov’s Performance

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola addressed the difficult debut of Uzbek defender Abdukodir Khusanov in the Premier League, following his costly errors in the 3-1 victory over Chelsea.

Khusanov, making his first league appearance, was at fault for Chelsea’s early goal when he misjudged a header just two minutes into the game. A minute later, he misplaced a pass, nearly gifting Chelsea another chance before committing a foul that earned him a yellow card.

Guardiola was asked if he had considered substituting Khusanov after just five minutes due to his struggles. The Spaniard responded with humor:

“I need to learn Russian or Uzbek to communicate with him. He doesn’t speak English.”

Despite his rough start, Guardiola kept faith in Khusanov, allowing him to settle into the game before substituting him in the 54th minute for John Stones.

🔹 Man City’s Position in the Table

Following the win, Manchester City moved up to fourth place in the Premier League standings, continuing their push for a top-four finish.
