Leicester vs Brentford: Match Preview, Predictions & Expected Lineups

Leicester City will look to take a crucial step towards Premier League survival on Friday night when they host Brentford at the King Power Stadium.

The Foxes have been in dreadful form under Ruud van Nistelrooy, losing nine of their last ten league matches. Their home struggles have been particularly concerning, with five consecutive defeats without scoring at the King Power. However, a win on Friday could lift them out of the relegation zone, moving them above Ipswich Town and Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Brentford, meanwhile, have been inconsistent this season. While their early form was built on strong home performances, they have recently improved away from home, winning three consecutive matches on their travels. Their inconsistent form in West London has kept them in 11th place, but they will aim to build on their recent upturn.

Leicester Team News & Predicted Lineup

Leicester will be without James Justin, who suffered an ankle injury in the defeat to Arsenal. With Ricardo Pereira still sidelined, January signing Woyo Coulibaly is expected to make his first Premier League start at right-back.

The Foxes are also missing Abdul Fatawu and Odsonne Édouard, with the latter yet to feature since November due to injuries and poor form.

Stephy Mavididi impressed from the bench against Arsenal and could be rewarded with a start in attack.

Brentford Team News & Predicted Lineup

Brentford are unlikely to make major changes from the side that secured a 1-0 win over West Ham last weekend.

The Bees remain without Aaron Hickey, Rico Henry, Joshua Dasilva, Gustavo Nunes, and Igor Thiago.

The main concern is over Sepp van den Berg, who was substituted after an hour against West Ham. His fitness will be assessed before the game.

Kevin Schade, who scored the winning goal against the Hammers, should start in attack alongside Yoane Wissa, Bryan Mbeumo, and Mikkel Damsgaard. The latter has been in fine creative form, with only Mohamed Salah (15), Bukayo Saka (10), and Antonee Robinson (10) registering more assists than his eight this season.

GK: Flekken
DEF: Ajer, Collins, Van den Berg, Lewis-Potter

Leicester vs Brentford: Score Prediction

Leicester’s barren run in front of goal—five consecutive home league matches without scoring—is bound to end at some point. They have created decent chances at the King Power Stadium, but wastefulness has let them down.

However, the Foxes’ defensive problems remain their biggest issue. They have conceded two or more goals in 12 of their last 13 matches across all competitions.

Brentford, on the other hand, have an efficient attacking record, outscoring third-placed Nottingham Forest this season. Given Leicester’s leaky defense, the Bees should have enough firepower to edge this one.

Prediction: Leicester 1-2 Brentford
