Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim expressed his frustration following his team’s 2-2 draw against Everton in the Premier League on Saturday, February 22, 2025.
United came from two goals down to salvage a point at Goodison Park, but Amorim was far from satisfied with the team’s performance.
With this result, Everton now sits in 12th place with 31 points, while Manchester United remains 15th with 30 points in the Premier League standings.
Amorim Criticizes Manchester United’s Performance

Speaking to Sky Sports after the game, Amorim voiced his concerns about his team’s inconsistency and lack of composure.
On the penalty decision:
“The penalty? I don’t think it was accurate based on what I saw. It was clear to the referee, but I don’t agree.”
On the team’s struggles:
“We wanted to win all three points, but worse than dropping two points is the fact that we keep losing the ball under no pressure and failing to do what we should. We are still weak.”
On second-half improvements:
“We need to keep working to improve our performances. We didn’t change anything in the second half, yet we played much better. We need to maintain that level throughout the entire game and continue developing.”
On his own struggles as manager:
“I honestly don’t know what I can do to make this team more stable. I will try to change anything that’s holding us back, but it’s really difficult here. We need to focus more in training.”
On the club’s objectives:
“We just need to survive this season. That’s all we want right now. We are not thinking about next season yet; our only goal is to stay alive in the league.”
On missed chances in the second half:
“I don’t want to sound negative, but we could have won the game in the second half. We were close, but we just couldn’t get the win.”
When Is Manchester United’s Next Match?
Manchester United will face Ipswich Town on Wednesday, February 26, 2025, in Matchweek 27 of the Premier League.
With United struggling for consistency, Amorim will hope his team can find stability and secure a much-needed victory.
